Carl Frederic Aagaard

1843-1895

Carl Frederic Aagaard (1843-1895) was a Danish painter known for his landscapes and seascapes. Born in Copenhagen, Denmark, Aagaard studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and later traveled to Paris to study under the tutelage of Jean-Léon Gérôme.

He is considered one of the most important Danish painters of the late 19th century, known for his use of light and color to capture the beauty of the natural world.

Aagaard's works are characterized by their sense of atmosphere and mood, and he is widely regarded as one of the most important artists in Danish art history.
